Dover Sole
I love heirloom tomatoes and I can't stop buying them. This is for sure not a new food considering I've made it three times in the last week.
Sometimes I wonder if this whole cooking thing is a phase. I have a tendency to get really into hobbies for a couple months and then not touch them again for years. When I was younger I went through a major bead phase. The second I got home I would lock myself in my room and bead for hours. Yah, remember how I told you I was awkward? Yah.
Well I think Friday I proved to myself that cooking isn’t my new phase. After a crazy long week at work, all I wanted to do was go home and cook. I didn’t want to put my feet up. I didn’t want to have a drink. I wanted to chop. I wanted to dredge. I wanted to sauté! And chop, dredge and sauté I did.
Dover Soul with a white wine and mushroom sauce…
Quinoa with homemade pesto…
And the salad my mom asks me to make every time I go home.
I wanted to send a special thank you to Mike and Denise Learmouth for joining Eric, my parents and me for dinner. Thank you Denise for the amazing olive oil and great salt. And thank you Mike for making a bet with me for $20 and losing.
